Next-flight cargo option launched for urgent shipments

Aviation service company, Chapman Freeborn OBC, has introduced a Next Flight Out service for urgent international airfreight shipments that do not require an on-board courier or a full charter aircraft.

The service is positioned between hand-carry and charter solutions and is intended for cargo that requires rapid uplift on scheduled airline services.

According to the company, the service provides shipment pricing within 15 minutes and departures no later than 24 hours after pick-up.

The company said operational support would include first- and last-mile transport, customs, security screening and palletisation. Shipments will also be tracked through its time-critical logistics operation.

The service forms part of Chapman Freeborn OBC’s Critical Freight Solutions product line and is aimed at industries that move urgent parts or high-value consignments, including aerospace, automotive, electronics, energy, fashion and healthcare.

“With NFO, we are closing the gap between hand-carry and charter services,” said Eyuel Habte, Product Development Manager for NFO at Chapman Freeborn OBC.

The service would support industries where “speed and precision are essential” and would be managed by the company’s own operation rather than outsourced, he said.
