Evergreen Line will introduce a new Far East-South Africa Express service, adding weekly container capacity between Asia and South Africa later this month.
The service will operate on the Shanghai-Ningbo-Kaohsiung-Shekou-Singapore-Durban-Cape Town route on the import leg, with the return leg running from Durban and Cape Town to Singapore, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung and Shekou.
The first sailing is listed for Shanghai on May 28, with an estimated arrival in Durban on June 25.
Transit times to Durban will range from 14 days from Singapore to 27 days from Shanghai. Transit times to Cape Town will range from 19 days from Singapore to 32 days from Shanghai.
The service will include transshipment connectivity through Kaohsiung and Singapore, with onward connections to northeast and southeast Asia, Evergreen Line says.
It also extends inland coverage through Evergreen’s Through Bill of Lading network, providing inland delivery solutions beyond South African ports to southern African markets, including Gaborone and Harare.
