Roll-on roll-off carrier Wallenius Wilhelmsen has reported strong financial results for the second quarter of 2025.
Total revenue reached US$1.35 billion – a 4% increase from the previous quarter.
Higher shipping volumes were the impetus for the Norwegian-Swedish carrier’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of US$472 million, marking a 2% quarter-on-quarter rise despite significant market volatility.
Net profit came in at US$403 million, boosted by a capital gain from the sale of a terminal, with underlying profit also recording growth.
The company cited ongoing strong demand in the shipping sector and reaffirmed its financial outlook for 2025, forecasting EBITDA in line with 2024 levels.
It said the results underscore resilient operational performance in the face of ongoing geopolitical tensions and challenges in global trade flows.
