US pledges $1.2 billion aid for Mozambique

The United States agreed to grant Mozambique $1.2 billion in aid last week, which will be used to fund projects in healthcare, food production and education over the next five years.

In addition, the Mozambique government said, it will use the money to “improve governance and deepen democracy”, according to Reuters news agency.
