Turkey seeks stronger trade ties with Namibia

In a move to strengthen trade ties with Namibia, Turkey is working towards doubling trade volumes between the two countries by next year.

The Turkish Ambassador to Namibia, Deniz Cakar, was quoted by Namibia daily, New Era, as saying that although trade volumes between the two countries were low, Turkey was focusing on improving trade relations as there is “huge potential” between Namibia and Turkey in terms of doing business.

AllAfrica.com reported Cakar as saying that since Turkey had opened an embassy in Namibia trade volumes had increased “dramatically”.  “Even though we have very few Turkish business people in Namibia and vice versa, we still we want to encourage trade between the two countries," she reportedly said.
