Sturrock opens in Eastern Cape

HAVING IDENTIFIED the growth potential of the Eastern Cape, Sturrock Shipping has opened a branch office in Port Elizabeth headed up by Christine Ewan. “Activities in Port Elizabeth as a result of the Coega project and other substantial infrastructure and industry developments have made the area an attractive investment proposition,” she told FTW. With the Airports Company planning to extend the runway from the current 1 980m to 3000m by 2010 and the port achieving substantial growth in container volumes – with equipment and infrastructure upgrades to support it – MD Andrew Sturrock believes the additional investment will pay off as economic activity in general and the Coega IDZ gather pace.
