DELTA MOTOR Corporation has joined forces with manufacturer Petri South Africa in a R22-million steering wheel export programme to Opel Omega in Germany. The duration of the export programme is currently two years, but it could be extended depending on vehicle demand, according to the PE Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PERCCI).
Delta Motor Corporation initially invested R1.1-million in the project and capital was allocated to the tooling section.
The project is one of the latest in Delta's extensive export development programme. In little more than a decade, Delta has taken its export turnover from zero to in excess of R1-billion per annum.
Leather is currently enjoying high popularity and status as a vehicle trim and South Africa is recognised for its experience in producing high-grade leather.
