New holder of biggest containership record

The Hong Kong carrier Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has set a new megaship world record with an order for six containerships of 21 000 TEU capacity costing the equivalent of about R11.4 billion.

Delivery is planned for 2017.

These trump the previous record holders, CMA CGM, with six 20 000 TEU ships.
