New Frankfurt runway hits barrier of opposition

PLANS BY Germany’s Fraport to build a new runway at Frankfurt Airport have hit a barrier of opposition. According to Reuters, the European Commission launched legal action against Germany on Tuesday, saying plans for the new runway did not take into account the possibility of an aircraft crashing into a chemical plant. The runway would be close to a chemical plant, and Germany has already received a written warning for failing to implement correctly the EU law.
