Opposition party, the
Democratic Alliance (DA), has
brought charges of corruption
against former chief financial
officer (CFO) of Transnet and
current CFO of Eskom, Anoj
Singh.
This as the ongoing
#GuptaLeaks investigation
by the AmaBhungane Centre
for Investigative Journalism
revealed on Monday that two
more successful winners of
Transnet tenders had paid tens
of millions to Gupta family
offshore fronts.
A chain of leaked emails
revealed that Singh had taken
several Gupta-funded trips to
Dubai during the period that
Transnet had awarded several
tenders which are now related
to alleged kickbacks to the
Gupta family.
Meanwhile, following
the latest #GuptaLeaks
revelations, Transnet
spokesperson, Viwe Tlaleane,
said: “The company is
conducting its own internal
enquiry and will investigate
all allegations made. Where
appropriate, it will enlist
the services of independent
experts, depending on the
required expertise.”
