PORT ELIZABETH is no longer
a groupage outport, says Uli Hatesohl, managing director of groupage specialist CFR Freight.
Interviewed at the opening of the new CFR Freight branch in Port Elizabeth recently, Hatesohl told FTW that CFR Port Elizabeth was already offering a weekly direct groupage service from Europe and fortnightly from the USA. There are plans to expand the PE
service, says Hatesohl. Our first
addition is likely to be an import groupage service from Singapore direct into PE. This will include the whole of Australasia (as well as Japan).
In fact, we'll look at any routes for which there is a demand. We have asked our customers to tell us what they need and we will try to put them in place.
CFR Freight offers groupage services to and from 500 destinations around the globe. Founded in 1991, CFR has experienced tremendous growth over the years and again in 1999 .
We move car go for 95% of South African freight forwarders in some way or other . We put our success down to the fact that we are completely neutral. We are not involved in customs clearing and will live and die with the freight forwarders and clearing agents, says Hatesohl.
