NEGOTIATIONS ARE in progress for the sale of XPS and Express Air Services, two wings of Rennies Freight Services.
A reputable organisation is negotiating the takeover, and we expect an announcement to be made during the next fortnight, says Gary Hopcroft, divisional c.e. Rennies Express Freight, who has declined to reveal the possible purchaser at this stage.
According to Hopcroft, the two companies will retain their own identities under any sale agreement, and the staff will not be affected by the move.
The present m.d. Jan Blake has been transferred meanwhile to another division within the Rennies organisation, and Alan Howie has taken up the position of acting m.d. until an announcement is made in this respect.
