Don't forget the LOA for vehicle imports

VEHICLE IMPORTERS can avoid unnecessary delays by strict adherence to the regulations, in particular the Letter of Authority which is required for vehicles designed for use on public roads. The Cape Chamber of Commerce & Industry has drawn attention to the fact that although trailers are not motorised, they are categorised as motor vehicles and are subject to the presentation of an LOA.
Motorcycles, tri- and quadro-cycles are excluded from the LOA requirement as are vehicles designed for off-road use. These include specialist airport vehicles, mining and construction machinery, agricultural harvesters, road graders and forklifts.
