Discounted freight rates on offer from the UK

JOY ORLEK DISCOUNTED FREIGHT rates on the UK-SA route are currently on offer thanks to some innovative thinking from Boksburg-based Super Truck & Cab. A division of SuperGroup, the company recently purchased 150x12 ton trucks with closed volume bodies in the UK. “Since we are paying freight charges for the space in the body at the back of the truck, we can offer that space at a discounted rate,” says MD Rodney Plett. The trucks come with 8m back volume bodies, 25% larger than a six-foot container. “The bodies will be sealed and insured in the same way as a container, and arrangements can be made for delivery to any destination in South Africa as Super Truck & Cab have their own road bonds,” says Plett. “This additional facility would further save on the cost of transferring the goods from Durban to their final destination.”
