Africa’s air charter provider of the year opens Johannesburg office

THE Air Charter Provider of the Year award - nominated by freight forwarders and airlines- has been won by global aircraft charter company Chapman Freeborn at the Air Cargo Africa 2011 awards in Nairobi. The operation specialises in moving project cargo across Africa, including heavy and outsize equipment for energy and mining projects. The company has opened offices in Entebbe and Johannesburg because these hubs can accommodate wide-body freighters, reports Shipping Gazette. Narrower aircraft are also utilised to connect to smaller and remote airstrips across Africa, it said in a statement.
