JOY ORLEK BOOKINGS HAVE opened for the next two United Nations-sponsored export courses for women. The five-day course – the first of which was held in September - is part of the Programme for Building African Capacity for Trade designed to help African women exporters. On-going nurturing and development is a key element of the training which targets exporters in Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mali, Mozambique and South Africa. “As funding has only been provided for three courses, it is imperative that those interested in attending make sure of their places on the next courses being run in January and March 2006,” says Joan Warburton McBride of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Johannesburg, the South African focal point for the programme. Women interested in attending must already have a product suitable for export.
