TERRY HUTSON RHETT VAN Zyl, formerly with MOL at the Durban office, says he has hardly had time to settle in to his new position at Rennies Ships Agency where he has been appointed general manager with responsibility for the CSAV service. CSAV now has nine vessels deployed on its Far East – South Africa – East Coast South America service to keep him busy, making calls at Durban both in an easterly and westerly direction. Having a weekly service in both directions with nine vessels provides plenty of additional capacity with fast transit times – 17 days from Shanghai, 13 from Hong Kong and ten from Singapore, and CSAV is now lifting between 600 and 700 boxes a week into Durban, he told FTW.
