SAFEROUTE, THE non-vessel owning (NVO) division of Safmarine, and Trutainer, the NVO department of CMBT, have been merged into one operating unit based in Cape Town and named Saferoute/ Trutainer.

Barry Fourie, already Safmarine's divisional director of Saferoute, will head up the combined operation.

Consolidation of the two companies became effective in July, and rationalisation of agency appointments, which commenced on that date, is now complete.
