In what has been described as a major achievement in Nigeria’s fight against drug trafficking, a suspected drug kingpin was arrested in Nigeria at the weekend following the interception of 266kg of methamphetamine and 310 kg of ephedrine en route to South Africa.
According to Nigeria’s The News, Tochukwu Harris Ubah is suspected of co-ordinating a large volume of methamphetamine and ephedrine distribution in and out of the country via Apapa Port in Lagos.
The report alleges his involvement in the illegal exportation of 576kgs of narcotics to Durban - valued at $23million.
The drugs were hidden inside noodles, cereals and palm oil.
