A new Gauteng campus has been opened by Global Maritime Learning Solutions Empowered (GMLSe), provider of consulting and capacity-building services in international trade and logistics.
Located at the Alt Academy in Rhodesfield, Kempton Park, “this expansion marks a significant milestone in GMLSe’s mission to provide world-class training in international trade, global supply chain management and customs compliance across the African continent”, a company statement says.
According to managing director Elwyn Pitt, the new campus enables GMLSe to “integrate its specialised logistics and maritime expertise with one of South Africa’s premier aviation training environments.
“This synergy offers students and industry professionals a comprehensive training hub that covers the full spectrum of global movement – from the flight deck to the freight forwarder’s office”.
Pitt describes the location at 4-6 Fortress Street as strategic, adding that it will include expanded course offerings – QCTO-accredited programmes, including International Trade (NQF 2), Freight Forwarding & Customs Compliance (NQF 3 & 4) and Supply Chain Management (NQF 5).
Another boon is the World Customs Organization (WCO) E-Learning Programme, of which GMLSe is the official distributor in South Africa.
"Our goal is to empower players in the global supply chain with the skills needed for a competitive edge," Pitt says.
