Mozambique’s Nampula provincial governor Victor Borges is planning to build a paved road linking the administrative post of Netia and the city of Nacala-Porto.
He told the newspaper Notícias that this is designed to improve goods traffic flow between the cities of Nampula and Nacala. Added to that, he felt that it would also have a “positive impact on tourism”, which has recently been developing on Mozambique Island and the town of Chocas Mar.
But the first task, Borges said, is raising the cash, with the government currently busy trying to raise funds to build the road – which, he added, is required to reduce the intense road traffic on that route.
