THE Ivory Coast shippers’ council (OIC) has re-confirmed the official requirement of a cargo tracking note (CTN) for all imports. The CTN number must be stated on the bill of lading (BoL), said the council release. Plagued by civil strife and a resultant weak economy, customs in the Ivory Coast is also becoming increasingly strict, warned forwarders Hellmann Worldwide. “Failure to comply will result in additional destuffing charges, fines and the like which will be for the exporter’s account,” a spokesman said.
