AN AGENCY agreement has just been signed between DAL Transport (DAL-T) and SA Express Line (SAEL), with the latter being appointed official representatives for Southern Africa.
DAL-T is owned by the Hamburg-based DAL Duetsche Afrika Linien - a member of the SA - Europe Container Service - and handles all the transit traffic for the DAL group of companies.
The agreement sees SAEL marketing DAL-T's south- and northbound services in the region. Container tracking and repair will be handled by SAEL's appointed agents Cross Country Containers and CMC depots.
The agreement is a major extension of SAEL's activities. The company can now offer services to various parts of the world through the DAL-T shipping connection with the range of European ports from Hamburg to Le Havre. This service, according to SAEL, will be common-user.
The SA hub is controlled by SAEL's office in Durban with marketing from other branches in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.
