Western Cape producers have set their sights on new markets in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia this year, according to Michael Matongo, Wesgro international trade manager.
“Brazil is another country that we are giving attention to while we have also started negotiations with the governments in Australia and New Zealand in an effort to push exports in these two markets.”
He said trade missions had already been undertaken to Austria and Germany this year while missions to the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France and Sweden were being planned.
“We are also hoping to visit Australia and New Zealand before the end of 2019.”
