“As a focused business-to-business newspaper with original content,FTWhas defied the trend affecting most print media, and the last few years have been very good for us.

“But COVID-19 has made it clear that the time to change is now,” says managing director Anton Marsh, the grandson ofFTW’s founders.

“The changing situation, with hourly updates and constant breaking news, has made it clear that freight forwarders, transporters, shippers of inbound and outbound cargo, clearing agents and everyone else working in the supply chain industry need news as it happens, when it happens.

“South Africa’s lockdown has made it opportune to change now so that freight specialists can continue to be informed when at home.”

Features concentrating on expert reportage of the industry are in the pipeline from July, and will be placed online in a separate PDF format and distributed in a special mailer each week, and promoted online.

Each month these features, which can be kept for reference, will be printed and bound into special editions and distributed to readers.
