The future of the Port of Cape Town will take centre stage at an Exporters Western Cape (EWC) industry event as exporters and logistics stakeholders discuss the port's role in supporting the province's long-term export growth.
The event, scheduled for August 5 at the Rockefeller Hotel in Cape Town, will feature a keynote address by Ilse van Schalkwyk, deputy director-general: strategic economic accelerators and development in the Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism.
The discussion comes as the Western Cape Government pursues its recently launched Export Strategy 2035, which identifies improvements to ports, rail, air cargo and logistics infrastructure as critical to achieving its export growth ambitions.
According to EWC, the session will provide insights into the province's strategic actions for the Port of Cape Town.
The event starts at 18:00 following registration from 17:30 and is open to EWC members, while non-members can attend at a cost of R650.
