Despite the labour go-slow at US West Coast ports now only a fading memory, average arrival delays were much higher than at East Coast ports in 2015.
This despite more arrivals at East Coast ports in the period from January 1 to May 15.
According to data from CargoSmart, of a total of 953 vessels, a third of arrivals into West Coast ports were delayed by 12 hours or more, while a quarter of arrivals were delayed 24 hours or more.
East Coast ports, meantime, recorded 1 217 total arrivals, of which 22.8% were delayed by 12 hours or more, while 11% were delayed by 24 hours or more.
