US maintains export focus

With 96% of the world’s
consumers living outside of the
United States borders, growing
exports remains a key target
for the Obama-led
government.
“Exports are a sure path
to growth, prosperity and
good-paying jobs,” said
Stefan Selig, US under
secretary of commerce for
international trade.
Investing in its export sector
therefore remains key for the
government.
In September the
US International Trade
Administration (ITA) awarded
$298 746 to a Virginia based
non-profit organisation – the
Association for Suppliers
of Printing, Publishing and
Converting Technologies
(NPES) to help these industries
produce more exports.
The funds invested are
expected to generate an
estimated $28 million in
exports during the next three
years by companies across
the US.
According to Selig there
continues to be a demand
for the country’s products,
technology and services despite
global economic headwinds.
