Security company to introduce tamper-proof labels

The introduction of tamperproof labels to mark cargo moving into Africa is one of the innovations on the planning boards at G4S Special Cargo Handling. With several additional services under negotiation, general manager Andre Du Venage believes it’s all about identifying opportunities to continually meet customers’ changing requirements. And his outlook for business growth on the continent is bullish. “South Africa is expanding with more and more opportunities becoming available in countries such as Mozambique and Angola. “We are seeing significant investment into Africa from China and that is creating opportunity. “We should be looking for crossborder opportunities now.” SCH has doubled in size over the past year in terms of staff and vehicles, and further expansion into Africa is on the cards for the year ahead. “We have established a good track record when it comes to averting attacks on cargo due to the standard of infrastructure and our technological capabilities,” says Du Venage. “Africa has been a neglected area in the global business environment, but I believe the continent’s time has come.”
