In line with the growth of the mining industry in Africa, logistics major SDV has set up a special division dedicated to the movement of mining equipment. "These products have to be handled differently," says general manager Gilles Duffaut. "The division offers all transport modes and caters for the urgency of the industry – if that means sending a courier with the required equipment as hand laggage, that's what we do. When a shipment is urgent, effficiency is far more important than price." Three full-time staff members are employed in this division.
