Mozambique’s project cargo boom is set to continue after the construction of the giant LNG processing plants. Quite simply, the country at present does not have the capacity to consume the 20% offtake that is due to it as part of the licence agreements. Plans that are being mentioned include a giant gas-fired power station to feed electricity into the region. According to the Washington-based Centre for Liquefied Natural Gas, LNG is the dominant fuel in the United States for the metal, chemicals, petroleum, stone, clay, glass, clothing and food processing industries. With abundant LNG literally on tap, investors will be looking at establishing manufacturing facilities for these products.
