THE DURBAN test case - which could create a precedent leading to the demolition of Portnet's self-declared right to a monopoly in container road transport is still wending a rather weary way through the judicial processes.
The Appeal Court is now not expected to make public its wise words until August. This after hearing a plea from Portnet against last year's High Court case, which found against the port authority's monopoly in container road transport.
The traditional winter holiday in July appears to be what is now delaying the Appellate decision - one which is anxiously/eagerly awaited by the para-statal and the private sector road transport industry.
