Online freight recruitment portal launched

A new concept is making waves
in the freight recruitment field.
Launched in November
last year, fr8jobs.net acts as a
recruitment portal rather than
a recruitment
agency, says
managing
director
Richard
Raphael.
“Clients post jobs online
and candidates apply directly
to the client who either pays a
monthly fee or a fee per advert,”
explains Raphael.
“In an environment where
everyone is looking to cut
costs, this helps
save the client
on recruitment
charges.”
According
to Raphael,
there’s been
particularly
encouraging
buy-in from
larger
companies
that have
a high
demand for
recruitment.
The concept has
already gained traction
in the general recruiting
field, he adds, “but
a specialist freight
site is more likely to provide
the targeted response that
companies are looking for.”
It’s up to the client to filter
the applicants who apply
to their adverts, but if CV
screening, reference checks
and security
checks are
required,
this can be
provided
as an addon
service
through
sister
company
Blue Oak
Personnel.
“We
believe
technology is the way of the
future – and in a climate where
margins are tight for everyone
