RAY SMUTS TRANSIT CAPE Town’s Llewellyn Nel likes to think of the company as the ‘ultimate one-stop shop’ in the domestic freight market. “That means one point of entry, one point of exit and one account facility, connecting our customers to a variety of airlines and services.” Working with a relatively small but “passionate” staff complement of 11, he says it’s a task-driven team, specialising in sales, customer services and general cargo operations. “The close proximity to Cape Town International Airport of Transit’s time-sensitive market augurs well,” says Nel, “given that with Nationwide Airlines’ cargo division being “in-house” and the ready availability of Airlink and South African Airways, the company is able to offer a wide variety of flights to all domestic destinations.”
