As the transport industry gradually returns to normal after the global downturn, NGL Logistics has put its money where its mouth is and embarked on a growth strategy. Hein van Tonder, who joined the company in February this year, has been appointed sales manager. His brief is clear – to grow the number of clients on NGL Logistics’ books. With his extensive knowledge, particularly of the courier industry, Van Tonder is aiming to grow the direct loads side of the business first. “My aim is to convert as many companies as possible to use NGL Logistics’ direct loads rather than the conventional transport mode of consolidation.” He believes it not only offers better value to a company, but it is also faster, more efficient and usually results in less damage to cargo. “Direct loads offer our customers a much more guaranteed service than anything else.”
