Twenty years after its inception, the South African Shippers' Council (SASC) has a new name and a fulltime secretariat serving the shipping, transport and logistics industry under the leadership of its CEO, Brenda Horne-Ferreira. “The Southern Africa Shippers Transport and Logistics Council (SASTALC), as it is now known, recognises that strength and competitiveness lie in innovation and collaboration and so we have broadened our scope by including not only the region, but other key participants in the global logistics chain,” said Horne- Ferreira, speaking at the industry body’s annual general meeting (AGM) and official launch in Johannesburg last week.
