Upgrades to the road network in Lusaka have been part of the inspiration for plans to build a new warehouse facility off Kafue Road, behind the Makeni Mall, says Rainer Frick, customer service manager at Cargo Management and Logistics (CML). “We have bought land a few doors down from our existing premises and are in the early stages of planning and dealing with contractors,” he says. The new premises will be tailored to the needs of clients wanting both bonded and unbonded warehousing and distribution in the Zambian capital. Thanks to its “sizeable” transit bond, CML is experiencing growing demand for transit clearances, which will be catered for in the new premises. CML decided to stay in Makeni because of its central location and the easing of congestion in the city.
