Anew 14 000-sqm Cargo Serv warehouse facility in Durban is helping shippers to move freight more efficiently between Zambia and the rest of the world.

In addition to the 14 000 sqm under cover Cargo Serv has invested in a 35-ton straddle carrier and a Solas weighbridge, according to the company’s director Blaine Evans. A new rail siding is awaiting activation. At present the company makes use of road to transport goods to and from Zambia and the rest of the region.

Cargo Serv now has 38 000 sqm of under-cover storage at three different facilities. In addition to its Mobeni headquarters it has a depot in Johannesburg. Services include local and long-distance transport within South Africa, and cross-border transport haulage to all southern African countries of both in gauge and abnormal loads.

Cargo Serv’s state-of-the-art warehouse facilities.
