SA Association of Freight Forwarders member companies try to actively recruit new people into the industry, according to Tony d’Almeida who heads up Saaff’s education and training function. “We target communities and schools whose demographics suit our employment equity objectives. We focus especially on unemployed learnerships where learners will receive training and a qualification at the end of a year but without any guarantee of a job.”
