The Namibian logistics industry is training for the future through the Commercial Advancement Training Scheme (CATS). Adapted from the German Dual System, CATS integrates theoretical learning with practical experience within the workplace. Students alternate between classroom theory and seeing it put into practice in the workplace through hands-on experience over a period of two years. Its courses are accepted and recognised by the European Union through the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The programme, which was founded in 1985 by the Southern African-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was introduced to Namibia in 2005.
