Lufthansa Group says it is optimistic about the future of tourism and trade between South Africa and Europe since the easing of travel restrictions in Germany on August 1.

The airline group has now revised its flight schedules to increase capacity to the South African market to meet demand.

From August 24, Lufthansa will increase capacity to Johannesburg from Frankfurt, offering five weekly flights between the two cities.

Additionally, Lufthansa’s services between Cape Town and Frankfurt will increase to three weekly services.

SWISS services between Zurich and Johannesburg will also increase to five weekly flights, from September 1.
