Over the past few years, Fiata’s Advisory Board on Vocational Training has developed a set of global minimum standards for the Fiata Diploma in Freight Forwarding and the Fiata Diploma in Supply Chain Management (FHDSCM). GMLS contributed to the material as well as “Train-the-Trainer” status for this FHDSM, managing director Mark Goodger told FTW. “Our objective is to ensure that the South African freight forwarding community has access to this training and can achieve all the international qualifications available. It is for this reason that we have made the investment to procure the curriculum for this market. “There are opportunities to do the Higher Supply Chain Management qualification as a learnership and extend that to attain the Fiata Higher Diploma in Supply Chain Management,” Goodger added.
