Massive investment in warehousing solutions

We Think Software Solutions is expanding its business solutions through “significant investments” in resources, according to company owner Werner Pretorius.

“Trade and logistics customers increasingly want more visibility across the supply chain as well as faster, more accurate information that helps them make better, more timeous business decisions,” said Pretorius.

In addition to a new logo, new premises in Pretoria and a more strategic marketing campaign, the company is in the process of upgrading its software solutions and introducing new applications as it moves towards a more comprehensive container freight station (CFS) offering.

“We are looking to fit into a space where we give our clients a full enterprise resource planning (ERP) system at a cost they can afford and which is fully integrated with their own systems,” said Pretorius, telling FTW that traditionally only the big corporates could afford the massive cost layout for an ERP system. “We Think Software Solutions is looking at ways in which to offer this to the smaller players at a much more competitive cost.”

He said that the upgrades and new apps could now offer customers a supply chain management solution from production to delivery.

“For example, we have tea producing customers whom we assist from the harvest stage to auctioning, blending, storing and distribution,” said Pretorius. Because of the upgrades to the warehouse management software, clients had expanded the applicable functionality of the software, he added.

“Instead of simply keeping track of stock in the warehouse and seeing when it comes into and out of the warehouse, our customers can now track pallet movements and keep control of other administrative assets such as stationery and raw material,” he pointed out.

Pretorius said the company had also launched a new legal application which, amongst others, allowed customers to track the progress of legal issues and receive notifications when legal documentation needed to be updated.

The company specialises in warehouse management, container management and transport management software.
