Police in Mpumalanga have launched a manhunt for six suspects following a truck hijacking in Vosman near eMalahleni (Witbank) on Friday.
According to reports from the SA Police Service (SAPS), the truck driver was travelling alone near Transalloys when mechanical failure forced him to get out and check the problem.
A group of six heavily armed men emerged from a bush nearly, told him to open the truck door, assaulted him, and made off with his belongings, diesel and 23 tyres valued at approximately R150000.
They then tied him up with shoe laces and drove with him into the bush. The victim is recovering in hospital.
