Western Cape Provincial Minister of Agriculture, Ivan Meyer, has called on retail companies who benefited from Black Friday to offer their support to back government and agricultural organisations’ drought relief efforts.
“The drought continues to threaten farmers and farm workers putting food security at great risk across South Africa
“Thirty-seven percent of rural communities in South Africa are affected by drought with the Western Cape, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape and Limpopo being hit the worst.
“Now is the time to support our farmers and farm workers to avoid a Black Christmas,” he said.
