One of Walvis Bay’s youngest freight forwarding companies, Camel Thorn Freight Forwarding, is now able to move into its own building. It has also expanded its offering to include customised logistics services to clients, incorporating ground delivery services Camel Thorn Freight Forwarding was founded in 2011 by managing director Stefné Lintvelt, business partner Renald Hite and a silent partner, to meet what they identified as a need for a more nimble agency in the market. “Bigger shippers are often concerned that the small freight forwarders or logistics companies do not have the resources to handle their cargo. “However, they often find that companies like ours can put the right systems in place and service levels are higher because they deal directly with the owners and managers of their logistics service provider,” Linvelt says. Camel Thorn specialises in the movement of refrigerated and other cargo throughout the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
