Neutral

independent

consolidation

company,

Contra Consolidations, has

entered into a

partnership with

the Spanish-based

consolidator,

Globelink

Uniexco, to offer

a weekly direct

service out of

Barcelona to

major South

African ports.

To launch the

joint service,

Globelink

Uniexco’s national export

manager, Josep Martínez,

joined the Contra team on an

introductory sales campaign

in South Africa earlier this

month to promote the weekly

service out of Barcelona as

well as the receiving facilities

in Barcelona, Valencia,

Bilbao and Madrid.

Additional transhipment

services from Portugal,

the South

of France,

Turkey and

North Africa

are also

included in

the service

offering,

said Contra Consolidations

director, Martin Schulze.

“This partnership with

Spain’s oldest consolidator

– the company celebrates its

50-year anniversary this year

– will further strengthen our

position as one of the leading

independent consolidators

from Europe into South

Africa, as well as from other

parts of the world,” he told

FTW.

Schulze pointed out that

Globelink Uniexco was one

of the largest operators

in Spain and the first in

the country to operate a

service to South Africa. “The

company’s philosophies are

in sync with our own and

are based on innovation,

great service and superior

customer offerings,” said

Schulze.

He added that Contra

Consolidations would

celebrate its 10th

anniversary in April.

“We began as European

specialists with services

from the United Kingdom

and Italy. Over the years the

company has systematically

continued the development

of a strong global footprint,

partnering with major

independent operators

throughout Europe, Asia

and the Far Eastern

markets,” said Schulze.

He noted that its

worldwide agency network

enabled Contra to deliver

“strong reliable services,

backed by well-established

partners with a shared

commitment to customers”.
