Paul Lawrence has joined

Tigers as managing

director for South Africa.

The Hong Kong based

global logistics group

acquired South Africanbased

Lochhead, White and

Womersley (LWW) in 2013.

John White (former owner

of LWW), will remain with

Tigers as chairman of the

South African company.

Lawrence brings to

the position 35 years

of industry experience,

initially with Barloworld

Logistics and most recently

as COO of Ziegler. “The

priority is to drive sales

and trade development as

well as to introduce eTigers

to the southern African

market,” said Lawrence.

“eTigers is a neutral

omni e-Fulfilment model

that Tigers launched

several years ago in China,

the Netherlands and the

USA,” said

Lawrence.

“Today it

is offered

globally with

operations

in Germany,

the UK,

Switzerland,

Malaysia and

Australia.

“It

facilitates the

introduction

of mid-sized brands

into emerging markets

in Asia and Africa

through an e-Commerce

fulfilment model, where in

selected countries Tigers

provides companies with

fiscal

representation

in addition

to fulfilment,”

Lawrence

explained.

The

acquisition

of LWW

represents

Tigers’

strategic

objective to

develop its

African footprint, a region

where it sees long-term

growth.

Tigers is a US$800

million logistics

and supply chain

management company

with operations throughout

Greater China, the

USA, Europe,

Australia,

Malaysia,

India and

South

Africa.
