Danish carrier Maersk has revealed details of a successful collaboration with a fast-growing e-commerce brand specialising in mother-and-baby products, aimed at transforming the company’s fragmented and manual supply chain into a fully integrated, data-driven operation.
According to Maersk’s newly published case study, ‘From Fragmentation to Flow: Transforming E-Commerce Logistics with Maersk’, the customer had been facing challenges caused by limited visibility, multiple stakeholders, and disjointed manual processes across its international operations.
To address these issues, Maersk implemented a comprehensive logistics solution incorporating Container Freight Station (CFS) services, supply-chain management (SCM), ocean freight, vendor and shipment management, and value-added services such as customs brokerage and trucking.
This integrated approach enabled the brand to consolidate its logistics activities under a single provider, reducing operational complexity and enhancing transparency throughout its supply chain.
The initiative resulted in measurable improvements in cost efficiency, planning accuracy, and operational coordination, as well as greater visibility across shipments. Maersk reported that the customer now benefited from a single digital platform that provided real-time updates and streamlined reporting, replacing the previously fragmented systems.
Following the success of the project, Maersk has announced plans to expand the model to additional markets and logistics hubs, including Qingdao and Yantian in China, as well as exploring opportunities in Turkey and the United Kingdom. The company is also working to extend customs brokerage and cross-border trucking services across the UAE-Saudi Arabia corridor.
The case study cites a total shipment volume of 26 000 cubic metres and overall combined revenue of $250 000 over a two-year period, underscoring Maersk’s growing footprint in the e-commerce logistics sector.
A Maersk spokesperson commented that the project “demonstrates the value of an end-to-end logistics model that enhances visibility, simplifies coordination, and delivers measurable savings for fast-scaling e-commerce businesses”.
