THE in-house enquiry into “alleged irregularities” by the MD of Fresh Produce Terminals’ Ronnie Kingwill would appear to have
been concluded as it has been handed over to lawyers, the chairman
of FPT Dr Dawie Ferreira said last week.
Ferreira said the decision to go the arbitration route had been Kingwill’s idea.
For the past three-and-a-half years Kingwill held the post of MD of FPT - a Capespan subsidiary operating portside cooling terminals in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban and Maputo - but was suspended from duty in February, a day before customers were informed of the shock development.
Since then no one within the ranks has been prepared to comment or even speculate on the nature of the allegations, referred to by Ferreira as “a very sensitive matter.”
